Nostalgia 8

La tour Eiffel

The Eiffel Tower is among the most recognized symbols in the world.

Designed by Gustave Eiffel, it is a premier tourist destination. Stands 300 m (986 ft) high, which is equivalent to 75 floors. Adding in the antenna will bring the total height of 324 m. Built in 1889, it became the world's tallest structure until 1930 where New York City's Chrysler Building (319 m/1046 ft tall) was completed. Since then, the skyscraper race has never stopped.

The view from Trocadero is simply stunning.

We took the line 9 from Strasburg Saint Denis and about 10 stops later, we reached Trocadero station. Hundreds of tourists flock that area for the best view of the most famous landmark in Paris. We purposely timed our trip to experience sunset and the lighting up of the tower.

More to come....the ascension...
