500 feet underground

Cold and dark.

Reminded me of the military tunnel in DMZ, Korea.

However, this was bigger and has multiple chambers. The light and sound display reminded us of how it was in the 19th century where candle is the only source of light underground.

Those people started work at the tender age of 10-12 years and worked 6 days/week. They don't work on Sundays, Easter Friday, Thanksgiving day and X mas. By the age of mid 40's, most were not able to work anymore due to Silicosis. Average income.......70 penny.

Consolation....a lovely and dramatic underground lake with crystal clear water.(tried to take photo but did not turn out well due to poor lighting)
