Llechwedd Slate Caverns - going underground.....

Darganfyddwch dreftadaeth lechi Cymru, ym myd tanddaearol y cloddiwr llechi Fictoriannaidd. Cerdded i mewn i'w bentref, ac i mewn i gartref.......

That was Welsh...... and I thought French was difficult....
This slate mine was discovered in 1846 and has 2 underground tours.

The one in the picture is Britain's steepest passenger railway that brought us 500 feet underground to see how slate is mined.

It was cold down there with an average of about 10 degrees celcius.
