The British Museum
Rosetta Stone.
This key stone was discovered by the French army in Egypt used to decipher the hielographic writing of the ancient Egyptian.
However, the stone was passed to the British as part of a treaty after the French lost their war to the British. The British brought it back to London and it has been there ever since.
I have seen the replica in Cairo Museum before.
We then proceeded to the mummy rooms and saw the mummies of Cleoplatra and others.
Read on the process of mummification.
Caya wanted to visit the reading room where thousands of precious books are kept and we spent the rest of the afternoon there.
As we were leaving, paid a visit to the souvenir shop.
Most of the items sold are Egyptian related.
Our conclusion....The British Museum would be quite hollow without their Egyptian items.
Also, we can't help but compare The British Museum with The Louvre.
Our verdict: The Louvre is by far a better place to visit.
