Nostalgia 19

End of a day....July 13, 2006

Today is the last day in the OT for me before my summer break.

My supervisor has gone to Italy for a few days. He will spend a few days in his apartment in Nice before taking his luxury motor boat across the Mediterranean Sea to Corsica. He will spend his last 2 weeks at his summer home at Cap Ferret.

What a nice life they live.....

For me...I assisted his partner in OT today.
He had NINE cases !!!!

Started at 8:45 am and we finished at after 6 pm. I became the 'scrub nurse' as his nurse was operated by us today for chronic abdominal pain. Interestingly we found her IUCD to be lying outside her uterus next to her fallopian tubes. Must have perforated the uterus during insertion and no wonder she suffered in silence for 2 years....

Cases we did today: 1 bilateral inguinal hernia, 1 unilateral inguinal hernia, 1 mastectomy, 2 lap chole, 1 lap CBD exploration, 2 diagnostic lap and 3 chemoport insertion.
(12 procedures in 9 patients)

All were private paying patients.

Again, what a nice life they live...
